Dr. Brian L. Atkinson
Professor Brian Atkinson MLS, PhD endeavors to be a modern polymath. He has invested a tremendous amount of his life, time, intellect, and creativity to a broad range of endeavors many of which overlap in many abstract ways. His various degrees and his academic and professional background represent his interests in visual communication, cognition, statistics, the application of natural language processing and high performance computing to social problems, and the qualities of technology leaders.
Outside of his academic and intellectual pursuits, Dr Atkinson concentrates his remaining resources to view the world around him through a variety of experiential lenses. Dr Atkinson has been an avid motorcyclist for over 35 years. His favorite I motorcycles have included a 1986 Yamaha SRX600, a 2010 Harley Davidson 1200 Nightster (Stage 3), and a 2016 Harley Davidson FXDf Fat Bob (Stage 2).
Upon moving to Chicago in 2018, he realized that his motorcycle days were either over or on hiatus. So he returned to one of his lifelong dreams sailing…. That is the emphasis of most of this site.
